How I work
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches so that our work together can be flexible and tailored to your individual needs.
At the heart of my practice is the Person-Centred approach. This means that our sessions begin with you — your experiences, your pace, and what feels most important for you to explore. I aim to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, understood and able to talk openly.
Person-Centred
The person-centred approach focuses on creating a safe, accepting and empathetic environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely.
Being truly listened to and understood can help you gain clarity, build self-awareness and develop greater trust in yourself. This approach allows you to explore your experiences at your own pace, helping you feel supported as you make sense of what is going on for you.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic therapy looks at how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence how you feel, think and relate to others in the present.
By gently exploring these experiences together, we can begin to understand where certain thoughts, feelings or behaviours may come from. This deeper understanding can help you recognise patterns and support meaningful and lasting change.
CBT
CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It can provide practical tools and strategies to help manage challenges such as anxiety, low mood or unhelpful thinking patterns.
Together we can identify patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck and explore new ways of responding that can support positive change in everyday life.
By integrating these approaches, therapy can be both reflective and practical, allowing us to work in a way that feels most helpful and supportive for you.
